Background
In the telecom industry outdoor radio units are plentiful and widespread. For these units to function optimally the temperature has to be regulated. In cold winter conditions the instruments have to be heated.
Objective
To heat these units with the least amount of energy is of great interest, facing higher electrical cost and environmental stress. Because of the limited room in the units it is also required that the components are as small and as few as possible. As this is a widespread product cost efficiency is also key.
Conflux solution
The optimized power consumption and intelligent heating solution provided by Conflux in the ZPZ foil can be used to rapidly heat these units when cold weather is approaching. These ultra thin heating foils use less energy compared to the old heating technologies, especially when the temperature climate is dynamic. The temperature is point wise controlled due to the inherent properties of the SIP compound throughout the radio unit without any extra switches, sensors, cables or other components. This leaves more room for the radio equipment and cost is reduced compared to the heating solutions used today.
Benefits
Using the Conflux ZPZ foil in radio units ensures that the inside electronics always have their optimal functionality temperature. The components can quickly be heated at start-up and controlled during their operation with less energy used. |
