Background
Being one of the modern times most important industries the battery development industry is facing a problem. That is to ensure the same performance, both during charging and discharging, regardless of surrounding temperature. More and more applications and devices are mobile and thus vulnerable to changing temperatures e.g. mobile handheld devices, electric cars etc.
Objective
To attack this problem heating of the batteries is essential in order to make them operate at optimal capacity in cold conditions. If this issue can be solved more applications can be “unlocked” for the battery manufacturers increasing their market. The batteries life span is also increased if they are operating at their respective best temperature. This, of course, has to be done by using the least amount of energy for heating. In short batteries are in need of external intelligent heating element.
